Mathew W. Kelley
Matt Kelly has been practicing law since his graduation from law school in 1985. His practice areas include workers’ compensation law, accident and injury cases, insurance defense and municipal law. Matt has been handling workers’ compensation cases on behalf of injured employees as well as employers and their insurance carriers for over 30 years. He has developed a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable worker’s compensation attorneys in the area. He has also represented insurance carriers and injured individuals in connection with accident and injury cases. Matt’s practice includes the representation of numerous local governments. He has been both City Attorney and Assistant Corporation Counselor for the City of Alton. He represented Godfrey Township for nearly thirty years and is currently counsel for Alton Township.
Matt is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the State of Missouri and the Federal District Court of Southern Illinois. He is a past president of the Alton-Wood River Bar Association and is a current member of that organization, along with the Illinois State Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Madison County Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the Illinois State Bar and has spoken on the topic of workers’ compensation law at numerous seminars.
Matt is a life-long resident of Alton where he now lives with his family.
